Our Mission
Lauren was the most passionate person and worked hard in everything she did. She was fierce and determined to accomplish her goals. Her zest for life was truly indescribable. The Lauren Nicole Marcus Foundation was established to keep Lauren’s memory alive by recognizing—and changing the lives of—outstanding young women who embody many of these same characteristics.
Lauren started her journey in the Hewlett school district and excelled in many things along the way. Upon graduating from HHS, she soared beyond her imagination and was accepted to her dream school, The University of Florida. From there, she once again exceeded all expectations by studying hard and focusing on her ultimate career goal—to become a lawyer. After graduating from UF with honors in the spring of 2013, Lauren continued on her path to success at the School of Law at St. John’s University, when her life was tragically cut way too short.
We have set up various scholarships in Lauren’s name and host several fundraising events to send a group of very deserving middle and high school girls to L.A.U.R.E.N.’s Camp: our annual three-day summer camp program that teaches middle and high school ladies the importance of many core values—Learning to Accept, Understand, and Respect Each other No matter what. All our philanthropies benefit those who are truly in need and, because of Lauren and this foundation, will now get the chance to experience the things she loved most.
Please continue navigating through the site to learn more about our programs, in detail and through photos. We are always looking for different ways to fund our cause—and to simultaneously keep it growing, so we can help more and more young women progress and succeed.
